We are seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Store/Office Manager to oversee daily retail store operations and provide administrative support for business functions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a waterfront environment, providing excellent service to customers and boaters, and keeping retail, inventory, and office processes running smoothly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store inventory and merchandising, tracking sales and financial information, supporting billing and account records, preparing reports, coordinating staff schedules, and helping maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily retail operations, including opening/closing procedures, point-of-sale activities, and inventory, and provides excellent customer service.
- Reconcile daily sales transactions, prepare deposit documentation, and deliver to the finance department in accordance with internal controls.
- Monitor, maintain, and track inventory levels; adjust orders based on seasonal trends, sales forecasts, and historical data.
- Submit all invoices and receipts to Accounts Payable and review expenditures in the purchase order system, ensuring proper approval and accurate coding.
- Perform all required month-end duties and provide the Finance Department with all required month-end information to ensure accurate and timely close-out of the accounting period including (but not limited to):
- Conduct inventory counts and reconcile variances
- Contact customers with past-due account balances to support timely collections. Work with Accounts Receivable to reconcile billing discrepancies.
- Compile and submit fuel sales receipts and related documentation to Finance.
- Maintain lease agreement and insurance records for slip and dry storage. Conduct semi-annual audits to ensure accurate records.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising principles, and point-of-sale systems
- Understanding of inventory control, purchasing, and vendor management
- Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be willing to work some weekends
