A gymnastics coach's primary responsibility is to train and mentor gymnasts, helping them develop skills, techniques, and performance levels. This involves, ensuring safety, providing feedback, and creating a positive and motivating learning environment. This role requires spotting gymnasts, teaching skills and creating a supportive and caring coaching environment that fosters the gyms mission and beliefs.

Key Responsibilities
· Training and Instruction: Providing technical instruction and feedback on gymnastics skills, spotting athletes, and developing training programs tailored to individual needs.
· Safety: Ensuring a safe training environment, monitoring athletes' well-being, and implementing safety procedures.
· Performance Enhancement: Assessing athlete progress, providing constructive feedback, and helping them improve their skills and techniques.
· Communication: Maintaining open communication with athletes, parents, and other coaches.
· Professional Development: Staying up-to-date with the latest gymnastics trends, coaching techniques, and safety standards
Essential Skills:
· Technical Expertise: Basic knowledge of gymnastics skills, techniques, and safety procedures.
· Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with athletes, parents, and other coaches.
· Motivational Skills: Ability to motivate and encourage athletes, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
· Organizational Skills: Ability to create and implement training plans, manage schedules, coordinate activities, update skill sheets and attendance.
· Physical Fitness: Ability to perform various physical activities and spotting techniques
- Clarity: Use clear and concise language when explaining skills, corrections, and instructions. Avoid jargon or overly technical terms that athletes may not understand.
- Active Listening: Pay close attention to what athletes are saying, both verbally and nonverbally, and respond thoughtfully.
- Positive Reinforcement: Offer encouragement and praise for effort and progress, not just for perfect execution.
- Constructive Feedback: Provide specific, actionable feedback that focuses on improvement rather than just pointing out mistakes.
- Empathy: Demonstrate an understanding of athletes' feelings and perspectives.
- Tone of Voice: Use a supportive and encouraging tone, especially when delivering feedback
Qualifications:
· Experience: Previous experience as a gymnast or gymnastics coach is preferred, but not required.
· Certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, USAG safety 101 and U100, background check are required
· Education: High school diploma or a degree in Physical Education or Early childhood education is preferred, but not required.
· Rate of Pay: Based on Experience
18 and older $18.00 per hour
16-17 year olds $17.00 per hour
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
