Commercial Superintendent (Occupied Interior Renovations)
Pay: $35-$50/hr + OT
A well-established commercial general contractor is hiring a Superintendent to support fast-paced interior renovation projects, primarily in occupied financial institutions. Projects are located throughout New Jersey and the Tri-State area, with consistent work and quick turnaround schedules. This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader who can manage subcontractors, coordinate MEP and finish scopes, and execute work safely in sensitive, client-facing environments. Off-hour and night shift work is a key part of the position due to occupied conditions.
The company also has in-house union carpenters on payroll, so this Superintendent will oversee scopes that are carpentry-heavy, including drywall, ceilings, millwork, and interior buildouts.
Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day field operations on occupied interior renovation projects
Supervise in-house union carpentry crews and coordinate subcontractors
Oversee carpentry-driven scopes including framing, drywall, ceilings, and finishes
Coordinate MEP trades to support fast-track interior buildouts
Maintain project schedule, phasing, and site logistics in active environments
Ensure safety, quality control, and clean jobsite standards at all times
Communicate with PMs, clients, and building stakeholders to minimize disruption
Manage inspections, punchlists, and closeout for rapid project turnover
Requirements:
Experience as a Superintendent on commercial interior renovations (banks, offices, retail, healthcare, etc.)
Strong carpentry and interiors background with the ability to lead crews directly
Understanding of MEP coordination and fast-track construction
Comfortable working nights/off-hours and supporting quick turnaround schedules
Procore experience a plus
OSHA 30 preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
$35-$50/hr plus overtime
