Resident Assistant or Resident Assistant Trainee
EVENING SHIFT: 3pm - 11:30pm Sunday through Thursday (1 position available)
WEEKEND SHIFT: 3pm Friday - 3:30pm Sunday (currently 1 position available)
TRAINEE SHIFT: Candidates must be available to work flexible schedule to fill in other shifts - hours will vary Wednesday through Friday 12-8pm Saturday 10am-6pm; Sunday 8am-4pm; (currently 2 positions available)
OVERNIGHT SHIFT: 11pm to 7:30am Sunday through Thursday (currently 1 position coming available)
ALL POSITIONS Provide personal care for people with developmental disabilities.* Help provide dependent adults with dignity, safety, daily assistance.* Aid clients in bathing, toilet use, personal grooming, dressing.* Perform basic housekeeping tasks* Help with home organization tasks* Preparing appropriate meals* Monitor client health and medication intake* Teach clients to manage their condition(s)* Provide emotional support and companionship to clients* Talk and socialized* Transport patients to and from personal appointments, social activities, shopping and errands.* Keep records of client care, client conditions, activities on computer.* Report problems to supervisors.* Confer with other care providers to best address client needs* Comply with health and safety rules* Comply with client confidentiality policies.
Essential Duties: Health Care Needs and Life Skills Training of Residents:
· Knowing the medical needs of the residents, keeping abreast of various medications used by the residents assisting the residents in taking medications, teaching residents the proper use of such medications and how to take medications independently.
· Assisting the residents with training goals, personal grooming, socialization, medication directions, daily life living skills, etc.
· Assisting residents with socialization needs and being an advocate for their rights as well as modeling and teaching residents daily living skills.
· Providing specific training to the residents based upon program plans involving skills in household chores and responsibilities, such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, money management, etc.
· Assuring medications are monitored, administered, and recorded on a timely basis as scheduled.
Job Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Preference given to those with experience in serving persons with disabilities.
· Clear written communication skills for documentation purposes.
· Computer skills and knowledge of applicable software programs is a plus.
· Ability to work with diverse populations.
· Must get along well with others.
· Must have a flexible work schedule.
