Stafford Gray is seeking a senior-level Data Warehouse Architect to join an established, collaborative enterprise data warehouse team. This is a hands-on architecture and operations role for a Teradata expert who can step in and contribute immediately alongside a small, tenured team of internal staff and long-term contractors.
You'll own the technical backbone that keeps critical business data current and reliable: batch processing, change management, security, and data quality across the enterprise data warehouse.
What You'll Do
-
Manage the complex Common Batch Framework and Common Scheduler to ensure current, reliable data is available for critical business processes and decision-making
-
Own Data Warehouse change management infrastructure, including all code and DDL promotions — performing build engineer tasks for both manual and automated promotion processes
-
Administer the Linux security model on DW ETL servers — authorizing user access to groups and sudo privileges (servers themselves are administered by a separate infrastructure team)
-
Manage Teradata security and access
-
Conduct data architecture reviews and audits to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
-
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and solutions
-
Provide escalated troubleshooting and resolution support for Data Warehouse issues
-
Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve performance and scalability
-
Ensure data quality, accuracy, and effective use of enterprise data assets
-
Manage and support data integration processes, including ETL workflows across multiple systems
-
Collaborate with external vendors and third-party service providers as needed
-
Support patch management, system upgrades, and ongoing system maintenance
-
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues across data platforms
-
Perform data profiling and implement data quality rules for assessment and validation
-
Execute data cleansing and standardization using built-in and custom data rules
-
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for data systems
-
Lead migration of data warehouse processes to standardized/common frameworks
-
Conduct elevated access reviews and user audits to ensure compliance
-
Identify and remediate audit findings related to data systems and security
