Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join a growing compounding pharmacy team in Cornelius, NC. This role offers the opportunity to work in both sterile and non-sterile compounding while supporting a collaborative, patient-focused pharmacy environment.

Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (as required by state regulations)
- Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail, hospital, compounding, or home infusion setting
- At least 2 years of USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> compounding experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Pharmaceutical terminology
- Aseptic technique
- Pharmacy calculations
- Prescription interpretation
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- High attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Quick learner with a positive attitude
- Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Coordinate and schedule compounding activities with the pharmacist
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations and obtain pharmacist verification prior to compounding
- Compound sterile admixtures and non-sterile preparations using proper aseptic technique in accordance with state regulations
- Prepare prescription labels, worksheets, batch records, lot numbers, and expiration documentation
- Maintain accurate compounding documentation and quality assurance records
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain cleanroom environments and compounding equipment
- Ensure compliance with USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, OSHA, FDA, state, and federal regulations
- Assist with prescription preparation, labeling, dispensing, and other pharmacy operations
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities
- Support a positive patient experience by providing outstanding customer service
