We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sushi Helper to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties
food preparation, including slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support the kitchen team in adhering to recipe standards and meal presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as sushi mats, knives, and refrigeration units
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety standards
- Help with food handling procedures to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination
- Follow safety standards during production to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
- Contribute to menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily sushi offerings and special dishes
- Support with general cleaning duties in the kitchen area to uphold hygiene standards
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
- Food service or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with food handling and customer service principles
- Knowledge of food safety management practices within a commercial kitchen setting
- Experience with food industry standards related to hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and meal preparation is advantageous
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
