JOB GOAL: To assist in creating a nurturing educational environment that supports academic, social, and emotional growth for children.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist children individually and in small groups as directed by the teacher Assist with preparation of educational materials, and audio-visual aides and equipment. Maintain organization of learning materials and ensure easy accessibility. Maintain a safe and orderly environment for children.Provide students with appropriate level of assistance needed to complete assignments. Assist in monitoring of lunchroom, lavatories, playgrounds, and corridors/stairwells. Accompany students to and from various locations within the building as assigned.Assist with monitoring of students entering and leaving the building.Assist assigned students including those that require ambulatory support (walker, crutches, wheelchair) in getting on and off the bus in an orderly fashionAssist in handling student and parent needs.Report incidents and serious discipline problems to principal or designee and assist with providing support. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Distribute and collect educational materials as required. .Assist in maintaining child accounting records as needed.Make and answer phone calls as directed by the teacher or supervisor.Assist with the kindergarten screening process.Must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development.

For transferring employees, evaluations will be done at 30 days. All regular employees will be evaluated at least yearly.
