Job Summary
DKG Construction is seeking a motivated and organized Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Construction Management graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in every phase of the construction process.
As a small, growing general contractor, you’ll work directly with company leadership and be involved in estimating, project management, scheduling, field coordination, and client communication. This is a role for someone who enjoys taking initiative, solving problems, and building a long-term career in construction management.
Responsibilities
Assist with planning and managing construction projects from preconstruction through completion
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and clients
Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
Maintain project files using Procore and Google Workspace
Assist with project scheduling and coordination
Support estimating, bid solicitation, and procurement
Attend jobsite meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Visit project sites as needed to monitor progress and coordinate with field teams
Help keep projects on schedule and within budget
Perform other project management duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or graduating within the next six months)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction software is a plus
Internship or previous construction experience is preferred but not required
Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation
