What You'll Do
As a Buyer, you'll play a key role in making sure our customers receive the products they need—when they need them.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Purchasing inventory to meet customer demand while maintaining healthy inventory levels.
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating product availability.
- Reviewing inventory reports, purchasing recommendations, and product forecasts.
- Placing and confirming purchase orders for pricing, quantities, freight, and delivery schedules.
- Monitoring supplier performance, fill rates, lead times, shortages, and product quality.
- Resolving pricing discrepancies, shortages, freight issues, damaged products, and invoice questions.
- Partnering with Sales, Operations, Receiving, and Warehouse teams to communicate product availability and substitutions.
- Helping protect inventory turns while minimizing out-of-stocks and excess inventory.
- Supporting purchasing projects and assisting teammates whenever needed.

If you've purchased products in foodservice distribution, wholesale food, grocery distribution, meat processing, produce distribution, or food manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience
- Experience in food distribution, foodservice, grocery, or food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of inventory management and purchasing strategies
- Ability to analyze reports and make sound buying decisions
- Excellent communication and vendor relationship skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Microsoft Excel and ERP system experience
Bonus Points If You Have
- Meat or protein purchasing experience
- Produce buying experience
- Perishable inventory management experience
- Knowledge of shelf life, product dating, substitutions, and inventory turns
- Experience supporting Sales and Customer Service teams
