American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring AWHONN Intermediate certification and NM or compact RN licensure.

Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital with 100-200 births per month
-
Handles antepartum care, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulating/recovering for C-sections
-
Uses External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and performs sterile vaginal exams and obstetrical triage
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week

Weekend requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks

Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs, with brief unit orientation provided

Patient ratio of 1:2

Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start

Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (pending certifications accepted), and AWHONN Intermediate

AWHONN Advanced certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required, not including new graduate orientation

Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
-
Skilled in maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and IV therapy/phlebotomy
-
Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Charting system experience required, any EMR system accepted (Epic preferred)

Provide comprehensive L&D nursing care including antepartum management, delivery assistance, and postpartum recovery

Scrubs are provided

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
