Chitra Productions LLC is seeking a motivated Junior Engineer
to provide engineering, technical, and project support services to
NAVSEALOGCEN. This position supports the review and resolution of engineering and technical issues involving U.S. Navy systems and equipment throughout the acquisition, manufacturing, maintenance, storage, and disposal lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn Navy
engineering processes, and capable of researching technical
documentation while supporting engineering projects in a
collaborative government environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assist with processing Engineering Support Requests (ESRs) and Technical Referrals (TRs) in accordance with established Navy procedures and program timelines.
- Research and review engineering documentation, including:
- Technical drawings
- Technical manuals
- Military and commercial specifications and standards
- Maintenance documentation
- Assist senior engineers in evaluating technical issues related to Navy material procurement, sustainment, and lifecycle support.
- Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to obtain technical data and procurement information.
- Perform daily processing of ESRs and TRs, including:
- Running reports
- Formatting and importing data
- Updating case information within Navy databases Edit
- Tracking work status and distributing cases
- Support development of engineering and project
- documentation, including reports, technical summaries, briefing materials, and project deliverables.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, performance tracking, and documentation management.
- Participate in project meetings by preparing agendas, recording
- meeting minutes, tracking action items, and supporting follow- up activities.
- Assist with monitoring project schedules, milestones, and critical path activities.
- Support development and maintenance of technical documentation, including:
- Project Plans
- Meeting Reports
- Market Research
- Quality Assurance Plans
- Trade Studies
- Production Scheduling Plans
- Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
- Ensure documentation complies with applicable DoD and Department of the Navy acquisition policies and engineering standards.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide administrative and technical support as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–3 years of engineering or technical support experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering documentation, and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or professional experience supporting Department of Defense or U.S. Navy programs.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation, technical manuals, logistics, or sustainment processes.
- Experience working with engineering databases or document management systems.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition or systems engineering processes.
- Experience preparing technical reports or project documentation.
Security Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
