Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Tutors in the Center for Academic Success.
2. Provides individual and small group instruction.
3. Conducts drop-in workshops as requested.
4. Conducts study groups.
5. Maintains appropriate records.
6. Submits a summary report at the end of the semester which identifies progress toward program objectives.
7. Trains and supervises peer math tutors.
8. Collaborates with faculty.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, Developmental Math or related field, with knowledge of math from basic levels through Calculus, including statistics required. Cayuga Community College accepts only degree credentials from accredited institutions recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and the New York State Department of Education.
- Teaching experience at the college level required; experience working in a learning center and training and supervising math tutors preferred.
- Knowledge of graphing calculators and other technological aids preferred.
- Good organizational skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work individually and collaboratively required.
Additional Information:
This is part-time position offering up to 29 hours per week. Opportunities exist at both campuses.
