The City of Eagleville, Tennessee (founded in 1836) is seeking a qualified and experienced law enforcement professional to serve as its next Chief of Police.
Eagleville is a close-knit community of fewer than 1,000 residents within the city limits, located in the rapidly growing Rutherford County. The city also serves residents from the surrounding communities of Rockvale, and Arrington, and College Grove (Williamson County), among others. Conveniently situated between Murfreesboro and Franklin, Eagleville is committed to carefully planned growth, a strong vision for the future, and excellence in public service.
The community is home to several popular restaurants, antique and home décor shops, Crosslin Lumber, Wastequip, medical and dental offices, and numerous locally owned businesses. Nearby attractions include Arrington Vineyards, Champions Run Golf Course, and Lucky Ladd Farms.
Eagleville operates under a Council-Manager form of government with a seven-member Mayor and Board of Aldermen. The City Manager oversees the daily operations of the city and serves as the direct supervisor of the Police Chief.
The City recently completed a comprehensive renovation of its Police Department headquarters, located adjacent to the new Fire Department. The Police Department currently consists of three officers and is seeking a Chief who will lead the department through its next phase of growth. Officers currently work six- to seven-day hybrid shift schedules, with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office providing overnight law enforcement coverage.

Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Chief of Police will:
- Direct the daily operations of the Police Department.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development for department personnel.
- Update and maintain departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality law enforcement professionals.
- Foster transparency, trust, and positive community relationships.
- Prepare and administer the department's annual budget.
- Manage departmental resources and recommend future staffing and equipment needs.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. Eagleville officers are dual commissioned with the Sheriff's Office, making interagency cooperation essential.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience above the first-line supervisor level.
- Tennessee POST certification.
- Valid Tennessee driver's license.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is up to $91,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
