What we are looking for:
We are seeking a relationship-driven and organized Inside Sales Engineer to serve as the vital link between our customers and our advanced product portfolio. In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for new prospects, playing a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition goals. You will build and develop early relationships with research groups at Universities, National Laboratories, scientific user facilities, and industrial equipment manufacturers throughout North America.
You will actively engage with inbound leads to understand their technical needs, identify the correct decision-makers and technical buyers, and determine the best product solutions. When complex opportunities require deeper expertise, you will coordinate technical calls between the customer and our various European sister companies to engineer the perfect solution. From initial qualification to delivering accurate quotes and handling orders, you will ensure our customers experience a seamless, consultative sales journey from day one.
Ideally you will be located in Madison, CT and will report to the Director of Sales.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure leads are well qualified by identifying the correct decision makers, technical parties, buyers, etc.
· Nurture existing opportunities & prospects to move them forward in the sales process and eventual closure
· Work on building a sales funnel generating leads through outbound cold calling, emailing and other lead generation activities
· Manage your lead and opportunity pipeline in Salesforce CRM
· Participate in quoting and order handling process
· Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas
· Exhibition and conference support
· Travel expectations 15 – 20%
Qualifications and Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Scientific, or related field is preferred.
· 2+ years of scientific/industrial equipment sales in a customer facing role.
· Proficient in executing sales processes and deal closure.
· Experience in a sales role where follow-up (not just one-time contact) was necessary to close.
· Highly driven and motivated work ethic.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively.
· A team player that can work independently.
· Experience with Salesforce CRM (or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Fluent in English - verbally and written. Other languages are a benefit.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
· Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
*Base Salary is $70,000-$75,000 with compensation bonuses*
