Per Diem RN Instructor – CNA Theory & Skills Labs
Northwest Care Academy is looking for a dependable, self-motivated RN Instructor to teach CNA theory approximately one class per month and potentially assist with skills labs and clinicals.
Theory Schedule: Approximately 37 hours per class and may need labs or clinicals in future
Typical Hours: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Position: Per Diem
Responsibilities
- Teach CNA theory using our prepared PowerPoints and curriculum
- Explain course material clearly and keep adult learners engaged
- Demonstrate CNA skills and procedures
- Assist with hands-on skills labs as needed
- Help with testing, skills check-offs, and student questions
- May assist with clinicals depending on availability
- Maintain attendance and required classroom documentation
Requirements
- Must hold a current, active Oregon RN license
- Long-term care experience required one year
- Previous CNA teaching experience highly preferred
- Must understand how to teach and communicate effectively with adult learners of different ages and learning styles
- Must be comfortable presenting in front of a classroom
- Must be self-motivated, organized, dependable, and able to work independently
- Must be comfortable teaching from PowerPoints while also explaining, demonstrating, and expanding on the material
- If you do not have qualifying teaching experience, you must be willing to complete required Train-the-Trainer education
- Final instructor approval is subject to Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) requirements and approval

Pay: From $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week
