Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist with animal handling, restraint, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment through regular cleaning and disinfection following aseptic techniques
- Support veterinary staff with procedures such as medication administration and animal husbandry tasks
- Record keeping of patient information, treatments, and procedures accurately in medical records
- Help with laboratory tasks including sample collection, processing, and basic testing under supervision
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and answer basic questions about animal welfare and behavior
- Support surgical preparation and post-operative recovery by monitoring animals and assisting with restraint as needed
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or veterinary technician experience is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with dog handling, animal restraint, medication administration, and aseptic techniques is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to PPE (personal protective equipment) use protocols
- Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations including record keeping and client communication
- Strong animal husbandry skills including feeding, bathing, grooming, and basic medical support
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact professionally with pet owners
- A passion for animal welfare combined with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills in a veterinary environment

Pay: $7.50 - $14.00 per hour
