Receiving Attendant
Position Summary
The Receiving Attendant is responsible for the efficient and secure handling of all packages, deliveries, and incoming items for condominium residents. This position plays an important role in providing excellent resident service by ensuring packages are properly received, documented, stored, and released in a timely and organized manner.
The Receiving Attendant is also responsible for checking contractors, vendors, and service providers in and out of the property while following established building access and security procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Package & Delivery Management
- Receive, inspect, log, and organize incoming packages and deliveries for residents.
- Accurately enter packages into the building's package management or tracking system.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled and stored in designated areas.
- Notify residents of package arrivals in accordance with building procedures.
- Verify resident information before releasing packages.
- Maintain accurate records of packages received, picked up, returned, or otherwise removed from the receiving area.
- Assist residents with locating and retrieving packages while providing courteous and professional service.
- Handle oversized, high-volume, and special deliveries according to established procedures.
- Coordinate with delivery personnel when packages are incorrectly addressed, damaged, or cannot be accepted.
- Maintain the package room and receiving areas in a clean, secure, and highly organized condition.
- Monitor package-room capacity and promptly communicate any operational issues to management or security.
- Follow established procedures for unclaimed packages and deliveries.
Contractor & Vendor Check-In/Check-Out
- Greet and check in contractors, vendors, service technicians, movers, and other authorized personnel entering the property.
- Verify identification and confirm authorization before granting access.
- Maintain accurate contractor and vendor sign-in/sign-out records.
- Issue and collect building access credentials, keys, badges, or passes when applicable.
- Confirm that contractors and vendors comply with building access procedures and approved working hours.
- Communicate with residents, management, security, and building staff as needed regarding contractor access.
- Report unauthorized access attempts, unusual activity, or violations of building procedures to the appropriate supervisor.
Resident Service & Building Support
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to residents, guests, delivery personnel, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond to resident questions regarding packages and deliveries.
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate clearly with the Front Desk, Security, Management, and other building departments.
- Report lost, damaged, missing, or improperly delivered packages according to established procedures.
- Follow all condominium policies, safety procedures, and security protocols.
- Assist with other receiving and resident-service duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in receiving, package handling, concierge services, residential property operations, hospitality, security, or customer service preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately maintain electronic and written records.
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, package management systems, and basic office software.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to maintain discretion when handling resident information and deliveries.
- Ability to remain organized and professional during periods of high package volume.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and move packages throughout the receiving area.
- Ability to safely lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs., with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.

This individual understands that package handling is an important part of the resident experience and takes pride in maintaining an accurate, secure, and efficient receiving operation. The successful candidate will also be comfortable interacting professionally with residents, delivery drivers, contractors, vendors, and building staff while consistently following condominium access and security procedures.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Receivong or Front Desk: 1 year (Required)
