Behavior Health Technician – Applied Behavior Analysis (BHT-ABA)

Service Settings: Services are primarily delivered in the child's home, daycare, preschool, school, community settings, and clinic environment depending on client needs.
Position Summary
AspenGold Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Behavior Health Technician (BHT-ABA) to join our early intervention team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children aged 2–8 within our IBHS program. Working under the guidance of a BCBA or Behavior Consultant, you will play a vital role in helping young learners build functional skills and achieve clinical milestones.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide direct 1:1 ABA services to children ages 2–8 diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities.
- Clinical Execution: Implement customized ABA treatment plans and behavior reduction strategies as prescribed.
- Data Integrity: Use electronic or manual systems to record real-time data on skill acquisition and behavior reduction targets.
- Skill Building: Facilitate the development of social skills, functional communication, self-care, and coping mechanisms in natural settings (home, center, or community).
- Crisis Management: Utilize approved de-escalation protocols to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment during behavioral challenges.
- Caregiver Collaboration: Support families and school staff by modeling interventions and assisting with the generalization of skills across different environments.
Supervision & Growth
- Engage in regular performance feedback sessions and direct observations with a BCBA/BC-ABA.
- Maintain active competency in core ABA principles according to the BACB RBT Task List.
- Participate in ongoing agency training, including HIPAA compliance, Mandated Reporting, and CPR/First Aid.
Documentation & Compliance
- Author objective and timely session notes following every shift.
- Ensure all service delivery aligns with Medicaid/IBHS regulations and authorized treatment hours.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Professional Communication
- Communicate regularly with supervising BCBA.
- Report client progress, concerns, and barriers to treatment.
- Attend team meetings and supervision sessions as assigned.
Reliability & Professionalism
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Notify supervisors promptly regarding schedule changes or client concerns.
- Represent AspenGold Behavioral Health professionally in all service settings.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Degree or coursework in Psychology, Education, or Behavioral Health preferred).
- Physical/Logistical: Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, run, and engage in active play with young children. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. Ability to respond quickly during behavioral or safety-related situations. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to various service sites.
- Experience: Previous experience with early childhood (ages 2–8) or developmental disabilities is highly valued.
- Certification: RBT credential and/or 40-hour coursework certificate preferred but not required. AspenGold Behavioral Health provides required training and supervision for qualified candidates.
Background Checks & Clearances
Employment with AspenGold Behavioral Health is contingent upon successfully obtaining and maintaining all required Pennsylvania clearances, including the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (if applicable).
Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour
