Job Summary
Cooper Jensen Contractors is seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to oversee ground-up and interior commercial construction projects throughout the DFW area. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring quality workmanship from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Duties
- Oversee daily field operations on commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and jobsite activities.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
- Work closely with Project Managers to address scheduling, quality, and construction challenges.
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify potential issues.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, and project records.
- Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project team members.
- Monitor jobsite progress and proactively resolve field issues.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections.
Requirements
- Commercial construction experience. (2+ Years Preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple trades.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain project schedules and keep work progressing on time.
- Proficient with Microsoft Projects and construction management software such as Procore.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate active construction sites.
