DIRECT CAREGIVER JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties Include:
- Assist in monitoring and instructing individuals receiving training in accordance with the Person Centered Plan (PCP), including assistance with data collection.
- Assist in completion of documentation, including reports, activity notes, seizure charts, medication records, daily logbook entries, and other reports as needed.
- Assist residents as needed with hygiene/self-care, including toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, etc.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physician, including approved over-the-counter medication as needed.
- Ensure residents complete chores as assigned.
- Assist in maintenance of household and training equipment and supplies and reports malfunctions and needed repairs or supplies for house, appliance, vehicles, or equipment to the director in a timely manner.
- Cook and prepare meals for residents in accordance with posted menu plans.
- Assist residents in assuring that laundry is completed regularly.
- Transport residents to day habilitation program, community outings, appointments, or to other activities as needed, and assist in loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Assist residents in engaging in recreational/leisure activities.
- Monitor resident during daily routine, on community outings, while being transported. Inform director and documents of any circumstance affecting the emotional or physical wellbeing of the residents.
- Assist in conducting routine fire, tornado, and severe weather drills as scheduled.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe environment in the home, including performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must wear shoe at all time
Qualifications:
Must be physically strong enough to lift 50lbs., emotionally stable and able to work with the handicapped; must posses a high school diploma or GED; must have a valid class D
Alabama driver’s license.

REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Pass the following: Drivers’ Record / Background Clearance; TB Test
* We have both full-time and part-time openings.
* Part-time is no more than 28 hours a week.
