Quality Countertops Shop Supervisor
The Shop Supervisor oversees daily shop operations for Quality Countertops, ensuring the accurate and efficient production, fabrication, and installation of our products. This role provides hands-on leadership to fabrication staff, supports workflow planning, maintains safety and quality standards, and ensures customer projects are completed on time and according to specifications. The Shop Supervisor is expected to model strong work ethic, technical proficiency, and customer-focused service. This position reports directly to the President of Quality Countertops.
Key Responsibilities:
Shop Operations and Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow
- Develop production schedules in conjunction with project schedules. Ensure products are completed and ready for installation by work order.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance feedback to direct reports.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, materials, and supplies needed for fabrication and installation.
- Ensure all shop equipment is properly maintained and safe for use.
- Maintains shop equipment following established Preventative Maintenance schedule
- Supervise and participate in fabricating countertops according to customer specifications and approved plans.
- Ensure crews are prepared with proper tools, materials, and job-specific products prior to leaving the shop for installations.
- Review blueprints and hand-drawn diagrams for accuracy and completeness.
- Confirm all fabrication and installation work meets quality standards and customer expectations.
- Assist with ensuring timely delivery of products based on the production and installation schedule.
Administrative & Costumer Focus
- Ensure all team members follow established safety procedures and use PPE as required.
- Investigates safety, quality, and employee relations concerns. Administers discipline fairly and consistently when necessary and in consultation with the President.
- Promotes employee development through positive feedback.
- Drive company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner, obeying all traffic laws.
- Interact with customers, vendors, and team members in a friendly, professional manner.
- Assist in resolving customer issues in a service-oriented, solutions-focused way.
- Delivers exceptional quality products and services as evidenced by maintaining a overall call back ratio of less than 10% for the shops products.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to read and accurately build products from blueprints and hand-drawn diagrams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work independently and lead by example.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and distinguish product color.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to enforce safe work practices.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid Ohio driver license must be insurable under company policy.
- Dependability in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework or training in carpentry may be considered in lieu of diploma.
- 3-5 years of experience in a carpentry-related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Background in leadership, supervision, or team coordination is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or shop environment is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking while working in the shop.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds independently.
- Regular operation of shop machinery such as table saws, chop saws, and sanding equipment.
- Periodic exposure to non-ambient temperatures, odors, and dust; PPE required for all job-specific tasks.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Based on the physical demands of frequent material handling and non-handling activities, this position meets the classification of Heavy Work.
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
