Overview:
Join our dynamic team as a 26' Box Truck Owner Operator and take charge of your driving career! This exciting role offers the opportunity to operate your own 26' Box Truck, delivering freight across various routes with flexibility and independence. As an essential part of our logistics network, you’ll handle specialized cargo, including Retail store Products, and other freight types, ensuring safe and timely deliveries. Duties:
- Operate 26ft Box truck on Local Jacksonville, Florida, Georgia & into South Carolina routes, adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Safely load and unload freight, Hand deliver boxes to each retail location
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure truck safety and compliance.
- Handle manual loading and unloading procedures for various freight types while following proper manual handling techniques.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with a focus on freight handling.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols
- Experience operating 26' box trucks with
- Ability to load and unload freight safely using proper manual handling techniques.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various shipment types
- Excellent driving record with a history of safe box truck operation over long distances.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks related to truck loading/unloading and cargo securing.
- 24’ or 26’ box truck (model year 2013 or newer)
- At least 6 months of verifiable OTR experience
- Regular driver's license
- No more than 1 moving violation in the past 2 years
