Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own 26-foot box truck to complete scheduled deliveries and pickups across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices.
- Ensure all deliveries are accurate, complete, and on time by adhering to route schedules and traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of your vehicle to confirm it is in optimal condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams via mobile devices to confirm delivery details or report issues during routes.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during drop-offs and pickups.
- Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, including weight handling in the workplace and maintaining proper documentation for each trip.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or courier services with a focus on box trucks or vans.
- Strong warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks and moving supplies safely.
- Knowledge of manual transmission driving and heavy lifting techniques aligned with safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic regulations, and managing time efficiently under tight schedules.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle manual handling tasks confidently and professionally.
- Ability to operate mobile devices for route navigation, communication, and documentation purposes.
- Experience with warehouse operations or moving services is a plus, demonstrating versatility in manual handling and load & unload procedures.
