Job Description
My name is Kris, at eighteen I broke my neck in a rollover accident resulting in quadriplegia. I am currently looking to hire a personal aid/assistant to basically help me get up and ready in the morning and get to bed in the evening. It is a pretty laid back position and fairly flexible. It pays $20.00 per hour in the morning and $21.00 per hour in the evening. There are around 15-18 morning hours available per week (2-3 per day) and 7-10 evening hours available per week (1-2 per day). I'm looking for one or two helpers to fill the hours. Morning shifts typically start at 8:00 AM Monday-Sunday. Evening helpers usually start around 8:00 or 8:30 but this can be a bit flexible depending on the help I'm needing. Periodically it may start earlier or later if I have an appointment or meeting but I will always give sufficient notice.
This position is great for a student or someone looking for a laid back part-time job. There can be some down time you can use how you like.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities are fairly basic. I need help with: Living maintenance and organization. ADL's (activities of daily living) e.g. help to and from my wheelchair, getting showered and dressed, getting set up for work . I also need help with a few minutes of basic massage during the evening visit. There are periodically tasks that aren't listed but nothing to crazy. Overall, the work is not that difficult and there is occasional down time.
Qualifications
This position doesn't require many qualifications. All I ask is that you show up to work, are on time and try to have a good attitude. Honest and trustworthy are also important. The only concrete requirements are: reliable transportation to work - 18 years of age - pass a basic background check - be a good person. ;)
