A client local to Berwyn, Pa is hiring for a skilled Construction Accountant to join their team. This role involves managing comprehensive financial operations specific to construction projects, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and supporting project cost control and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of construction accounting practices, financial analysis, and industry-specific software systems.
Duties
- Oversee project-specific accounting functions, including job cost tracking, revenue recognition, and expense allocation.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to support project budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
- Conduct account reconciliations for the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Manage cash flow analysis and monitor project budgets to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform cost accounting analysis to evaluate project profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial report writing, data collection, and financial software integration.
- Support month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Assist in the implementation of business intelligence tools for enhanced data analysis and reporting efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience within the manufacturing or construction industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts relevant to construction projects.
- Experience with ERP systems integration and financial report interpretation.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel data analysis), financial modeling, and business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with cost management strategies including cost analysis and budgeting techniques.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
