JOB DESCRIPTION
Specialty infusion pharmacy in Rock Hill, SC searching for a pharmacy technician to work in our infusion pharmacy and manage home infusion patients. This technician will be responsible for both mixing IV medication and the intake process.
JOB SUMMARY
IV Intake Technician with Vital Care of Rock Hill is responsible for being the liaison between infusion patients and the pharmacy, as well as working in the lab to mix medications in compliance with USP <797>. This employee will be expected to with the pharmacist to manage new referrals and the intake process between referral sources, patients, and the billing team. The intake technician will run benefits, schedule nursing and other appointments, schedule weekly deliveries, mix and dispense medications, and ensure that each patient has a personalized experience without pharmacy team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician, CPhT.
- Required: Experience with sterile compounding that lines up with the business of home infusion pharmacies.
- Required: Good interactive skills with employees, referral sources, physicians, and patients
- Required: Excellent written and verbal customer service skills and advanced computer skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with patients and referral sources in a professional manner
- Understand insurance benefits and quote pricing accurately to patients with the help of the billing team
- Interact with billing team efficiently
- Understand the pharmacy prescription filling process and work with pharmacy team to complete medication deliveries accurately and in a timely fashion
- Act as a case manager with all IV infusion patients
