Dietary Food Services Assistant
Reports To: Dietary Food Services Supervisor
Position Summary
As a Dietary Food Services Assistant, you’ll help create a positive dining experience for our senior residents by supporting meal preparation, service, and cleanup. Your role is essential to promoting health, comfort, and community through nutritious meals and friendly service.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Service
- Assist with plating and serving meals according to resident dietary needs and preferences
- Set up dining areas with proper tableware, condiments, and beverages
- Ensure meals are served on time and at appropriate temperatures
- Provide courteous, respectful service to residents during mealtimes
Sanitation & Safety
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, and dishware
- Follow food safety and infection control protocols
- Properly store food and supplies to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with cooks, dietary aides, and nursing staff
- Assist with inventory and restocking supplies as needed
- Participate in training and team meetings to support quality improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or healthcare setting a plus
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to lift, carry, and stand for extended periods
- Friendly, patient-centered attitude and strong work ethic
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
