Job Summary:
Northern Aggregate Inc is looking for a mechanic with the knowledge and skills to maintain and repair aggregate crushing equipment and associated heavy diesel equipment. This position is full time and located out of Bemidji MN. Candidates must have relevant job experience, a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug test.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Performing maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on aggregate/ crushing equipment and assisting with repairs, improvements, and maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition.
* Safely operate equipment, standard and specialty tools, welders, hoists and other lifting devices, etc. on a daily basis.
* Troubleshooting equipment maintenance problems to properly diagnose components to determine method and extent of repair necessary. Read, interpret, analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics.
* Anticipate needed parts and supplies, disassemble equipment and parts, fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts.
* Use cutting torch and perform welding tasks
* Clean work areas
* Fill out shop repair orders daily
* Drive and maintain service truck
* Accurately complete work orders or other maintenance repair documentation.
* Ensure DOT, MSHA safety and environmental regulation compliance.
* May be required to operate and maintain company vehicle to perform field service repair then operate repaired equipment to ensure proper working condition after repairs have been completed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidates should possess the following:
*Valid, unrestricted Driver's License with reasonable driving record. Class A is preferred.
*Effective communication skills (verbal/listening, written). Frequent contact and communication with others within and outside the company.
*Ability to work independently or in a team setting; act courteous and respectful of others.
*Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining deadlines; be highly organized with attention to detail.
*Provide your own basic hand tools, pneumatics and some specialty tools.
*Must be able to pass a pre-employment and physical. This position is safety sensitive.
Pay starts at $28.00 per hour and goes up depending on experience.
