This position is (Noon) 12pm-9pm, 9 hour days, 5 days a week on-site.
This Dispatch position will be responsible not only for the efficient scheduling of our drivers and meeting our customers’ requirements, but also leading and directing the dispatch team and assisting in the resolution of driver’s issues. The dispatcher will interact with their teammates, drivers, customers, other operations personnel (including Safety, Customer Service, Repair Shop, Warehouse, Import/Export, and Upper management) departments. Scheduling and monitoring of drivers will be done through our company dispatch software Profit Tools, Samsara, Disc Mobile / DPS interfaces. The successful candidate will be able to work with all our dispatchers and drivers by describing the customer requirements in detail, while taking in to account the driver safety status general personal life components.

1. Working knowledge of Intermodal trucking, all Chicago railroads, and Steamship Container Industries as well as Chicago van trailer depots

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all driver personnel and is responsible for communication, the performance management and ongoing documentation of the drivers.
Work Environment
This position is performed predominately indoors. Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work with a team and independently.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Requires sitting for a prolonged period. Requires dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper. Requires occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Requires minimum reaching for items above and below desk level. Requires strength, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 45-50 hours (minimum) per week. Dispatchers run on first and second shifts as assigned.
Travel
There are no travel expectations for this position.
Required Education and Experience
5+ years of Intermodal dispatch experience is required. Must provide demonstrated history of Intermodal dispatching, troubleshooting experience, computer proficiency, and ability to lead and train others.
Samsara, DPS & Profit Tools experience is a plus.
