Job Overview
The Asphalt Lute Man plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth, even asphalt surface during paving operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spreading and Smoothing Asphalt: Use a lute (a long-handled rake) or shovel to manually spread and level hot asphalt in areas where the paving machine can't reach.
- Edge Work: Shape and finish edges of the asphalt mat, especially around curbs, manholes, and tight corners.
- Surface Corrections: Identify and correct imperfections in the asphalt surface before compaction.
- Support Paving Crew: Assist screed operators and roller operators by preparing the mat and ensuring consistent coverage.
- Manual Labor Tasks: Shoveling, raking, and luting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
