General Description:
The Worship Technology and Social Media Coordinator cooperates with the Pastors and worship leaders to produce a worship service that delivers the Christian Word of God, is culturally relevant, spiritually engaging and through social media reaches beyond the immediate Church community. The worship service shall be creative, uplifting and shared through a variety of media experiences.
The Worship Technology and Social Media Coordinator is an important part of the overall ministry of UMCL; therefore, a demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith is required.
Core Job Responsibilities:
● Demonstrates positive relationship skills with staff and congregation.
● Takes responsibility for the production and streaming of worship services and platform management (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc.)
● Designs and provides a variety of multimedia experiences for Sunday worship service, other events as required.
● Takes part in a weekly meeting with Pastors and Leaders to create/coordinate worship service content and develop social media strategy
● Ensures that multimedia content is relevant and is consistent with message and scripture.
● Provides media and sound for weddings, funerals and other special events, including streaming of appropriate events.
● Team Leadership: Recruit, schedule and train volunteer teams to successfully execute service.
Core Competencies:
A. Technical Skills:
● Proficient in ProPresenter, Planning Center, Microsoft Office, iMovie or other video editing software, Apple products.
● Proven experience in developing and producing creative, artistic media presentations.
● Audio Engineering: Mix live and stream sound, manage microphones, and optimize acoustics for musicians, vocalists, and speakers.
● Visual Media: Operate projection and software—such as ProPresenter—to display song lyrics, scripture, and sermon notes.
● Video & Livestreaming: Direct cameras, switch feeds, and manage broadcasts to platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
● Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and plan upgrades for all technical gear, cables, and software. Ability to remain calm and troubleshoot hardware or software failures quickly during live events.
● Content Creation: Copywriting and storytelling, Graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), Video creation and editing, Photography and visual content development
B. Interpersonal Skills:
● Acts as a resource to other staff and congregation.
● Is flexible in dealing with changing priorities and tasks due to dynamic nature of the
environment.
● Strong skills to coordinate smoothly and translating guidance from pastors, musicians, and volunteers. Is comfortable executing within short notice.

● Demonstrates ethical standards beyond reproach and maintains necessary confidentiality.

Work Schedule
This is a part time, 15-20 hours per week position to include Sundays, specific holidays and church events. Work schedule will vary according to Worship service needs. In person attendance required on Sundays, but the option exists for remote work during the week.
