The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Development Associate to support the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, and communications efforts. This role plays an important part in maintaining donor data, supporting special events, assisting with corporate and foundation engagement, and contributing to marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen the Center’s visibility and community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain donor and constituent data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting
- Process gifts, acknowledgments, and coordinate closely with Finance on gift tracking and reconciliation
- Produce reports, queries, and data exports to support fundraising, events, and grant activity
- Support planning and execution of special events, including logistics, sponsorship tracking, and volunteer coordination
- Assist with donor stewardship and corporate sponsorship outreach
- Contribute to marketing and communications efforts, including website updates, newsletters, and digital outreach
- Collaborate with internal teams to support development goals and organizational priorities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Experience with donor databases and fundraising systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge or similar)
- Experience supporting events, marketing, or communications initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
