GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of machinery, including trucks, trailers, and other equipment. This job may be performed indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, and fumes. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a solid work ethic.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on equipment and vehicles.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections as needed.

Troubleshoot and repair various types of engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and drive trains.

Operate diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and ensure proper function after repairs.

Maintain detailed records of repairs, services, and inspections.

Maintain job-related tools and equipment to ensure they are usable at all times.

Follow safety standards and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Collaborate with other technicians, operators, and supervisors to ensure minimal equipment downtime.

Respond to emergency repair situations in a timely manner.

Any other duties as assigned that align with the nature of this position
QUALITIFICATIONS
Job qualifications may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Technical or trade school certification preferred.

3+ years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, diesel technician, or similar role.

Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.

Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment.

Strong knowledge of street sweeper trucks, including mechanical broom sweepers, vacuum sweepers, and regenerative air sweepers.

Ability to comprehend technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

Physically fit, able to lift 50+ lbs without restrictions, and able to stand, bend, or lift for extended periods

Able to work in various weather conditions.

Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Must be organized and pay close attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, involving physical activity such as climbing, standing, and occasional lifting. The role may involve early morning or night shifts, overtime, and occasional weekend or holiday work depending on operational needs.
