American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position in Oregon, requiring critical care or PACU experience and Epic proficiency, with variable shifts and on-call responsibilities.

38-bay Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a hospital setting, operating 24/7
-
Serves adult patients as well as some pediatric patients

Patient population includes ambulatory, acute care, and critical care patients arriving from home, the ED, and inpatient settings — prepared for surgery/procedures and recovered from anesthesia post-op

Variable day/evening shifts with the possibility of some night shifts; potential start times include 0530, 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, and 1900

Shift schedule: Day (3x12-hr, 0530–1730) or Night (3x12-hr, 1900–0730)

On-call used to support nights, weekends, and holidays

Floating to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

Epic EMR experience required

13-week contract with the possibility of extension beyond 13 weeks

Active Oregon (OR) RN license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of experience in adult or pediatric critical care (ICU, high-acuity ED, or PACU)

Epic EMR experience required

COVID vaccination proof required — no exemptions

Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references are not acceptable)

Responsibilities include perianesthesia care, pre-surgical preparation, post-anesthesia recovery, and patient transition to inpatient units or discharge

Shift flexibility is required, though the assigned shift is expected to remain consistent week to week when possible

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction

Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from the OHSU manager who supervised them

Must be away from the facility for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of profile and may not exceed 2 weeks
