About Just Like Home Elder Care LLC
Just Like Home Elder Care is a small, assisted living residence in Chetek, WI, providing 24-hour care, advanced age care, and hospice-contracted services in a warm, homelike environment. Established in 1998 and locally owned, we focus on compassionate support, dignity, and safety for each resident.
Position Overview
We are seeking a caring, reliable Caregiver / Resident Assistant for our evening shift from 1 pm–9 pm.
You will also be trained on morning shift duties so we can adjust schedules as needed over time.
This is a hands-on caregiving role working directly with our elderly residents in a small, homelike setting.
Schedule
- Primary shift: 1 pm–9 pm
- Occasional coverage or schedule changes may require morning shifts (7am-1pm)
- Part-time or full-time options can be discussed during the interview
- Overnight position available as well. Paid per night not by hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Offer kind, respectful supervision and companionship to residents
- Assist with medication reminders/administration per facility policy and training
- Help with meal setup, serving, and light kitchen clean-up
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks to maintain a clean, safe environment
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the supervisor
- Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies
- Maintain a professional, calm, and patient demeanor with residents, families, and co‑workers
Qualifications
Required:
- Genuine interest in working with seniors and providing compassionate care
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job (standing, walking, lifting, assisting with transfers)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the 1 pm–9 pm evening shift
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks per Wisconsin regulations
Preferred (not required):
- CBRF certification
- Prior experience in assisted living, group home, or caregiving setting
- CPR/First Aid certification
If you do not have experience, we are willing to train the right person who is dependable and eager to learn.
Training
- On-the-job training provided for all essential caregiving tasks
- Cross-training for morning shift so you can help with schedule changes if needed
- Supportive leadership and experienced staff available for questions and guidance
