Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Fargo Pound Kennel Attendant to join our animal care team. As a Kennel Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for animals in our care, ensuring their well-being through attentive pet care and animal handling. *Note: this position is strictly for the Fargo Pound, working before and after vet hospital hours. There will not be any hospital shifts with this position.*
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, cleaning kennels, and monitoring health status.
- Handle dogs and other animals using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area, ensuring sanitation standards are consistently met.
- Lift heavy supplies or animals safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in kennel work, animal handling, or pet care is highly desirable, but not required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare and safety standards.
