Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and staff alike. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, and supervising maintenance projects to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise will help create an inviting atmosphere that enhances guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical equipment to prevent issues before they arise.
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of facility systems using schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Operate and calibrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate building functions efficiently.
- Perform welding, residential painting, and other handyman tasks to address facility repairs promptly.
- Use tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical faults accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Supervise external contractors during specialized projects like roofing or major renovations while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Lead small teams in facilities maintenance tasks, providing guidance and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
- Manage facility upgrades or renovations with attention to schematics, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Ensure all maintenance work aligns with environmental health and safety regulations, fostering a secure environment for all occupants.
Experience
- Proven background in facilities maintenance within hospitality, manufacturing, or residential settings.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, mechanical equipment, welding techniques, and schematics interpretation.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools essential for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams or projects.
- Strong knowledge of CMMS platforms for work order management and record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with team members and vendors.
- Prior experience in customer service-oriented environments is highly desirable to ensure guest satisfaction through prompt problem resolution.
