Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Ipswich High School
Reports To: Principal
FTE: 1.0 – 10 Month
POSITION OVERVIEW
Ipswich High School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Co-Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an individual who can foster an innovative, collaborative, and inclusive co-teaching environment while effectively addressing diverse student needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

DESE teaching license in moderate special needs (secondary level) and content area
-
Knowledge of a wide range of disabilities
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Understanding and experience in Math (Algebra and Geometry), Biology, and/or History content areas
-
Experience implementing all parts of the IEP and Transition Plan process
-
Prior experience in completing academic achievement testing
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Provide co-teaching partnerships in general education classes, adapting and modifying curriculum materials and instructional approaches to serve as a resource for diverse learners

Work collaboratively with individual student teams

Provide Case Manager services, including development, implementation, and monitoring of IEP goals and objectives; liaison with general education teachers; communication with home; and attending Team meetings

Attend IEP and other meetings for assigned students and present up-to-date information on progress toward goals and objectives

Conduct and present educational testing results, using this information to review and revise current IEP goals and objectives

Collect and manage data pertaining to various student goals and objectives for progress monitoring

Ensure that all related services and class accommodations are being implemented in the appropriate settings

Teach small group Special Education courses for students who require remedial and/or modified core content curriculum

Participate in professional development and other meetings with the Special Education department and school-wide faculty
