We are seeking a dedicated School Cafeteria Worker to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role is essential in providing nutritious, safe, and appealing meals to students while maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines and safety procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, microwaves, and food warmers efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria area, including tables, floors, and food preparation surfaces
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Handle manual tasks such as weighing ingredients, portioning food, and processing cash transactions accurately
- Assist with inventory management by receiving deliveries and organizing supplies
- Provide friendly, in-person customer service to students and staff during meal times
- Support food handling protocols to ensure proper hygiene and safety standards are upheld
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafeteria operations throughout the school day
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, catering, or hospitality environments preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling and portioning tasks
- Experience with POS systems or processing cash transactions is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on in-person interactions
- Physical ability to handle weight in the workplace, including lifting supplies or food items
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and teamwork orientation
