Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Combination Welder to join our manufacturing and construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and <LOCATION> welding, to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, fabrication techniques, and mechanical principles to ensure high-quality welds that meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring construction site experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a commitment to safety and precision. Duties
- Execute welding operations using MIG, TIG, FCAW, plasma cutting, and <LOCATION> welding techniques on various materials such as sheet metal and ductwork
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications and assembly procedures
- Prepare workpieces by measuring with calipers and micrometers, cutting with plasma cutters or press brake machines, and setting up fixtures
- Perform fabrication tasks including pipe threading, assembly of components, and rigging to ensure proper alignment and fit
- Operate power tools such as grinders, drills, and press brake machines safely and efficiently
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and schematics to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving mechanical knowledge, schematics interpretation, and assembly processes
- Support construction site activities by providing skilled welding services for structural steel or ductwork installations
- Follow ASME codes & standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations during fabrication and welding tasks
Experience
- Proven experience in construction sites or manufacturing environments involving structural or pipe welding
- Proficiency in MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding processes
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical documentation
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and machining operations
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including plasma cutting, press brake operation, soldering, and pipe threading
- Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to welding practices
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus
