Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time, 20 Hours/Week, Afternoons & Evenings)
Partners4Wellness (P4W) seeks a compassionate and motivated Outreach Coordinator to facilitate life-skills and resiliency workshops for youth involved in the juvenile justice system. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about supporting under-served youth through mentorship, skill-building, and community engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Life Skills and Resiliency Workshops
- Facilitate interactive, evidence-based life-skills and resiliency workshops for youth and transitional-age youth (TAY) ages 16-25 in Juvenile Hall, the Youth Guidance Center, the Youth Leadership Academy, and other youth-serving organizations.
- Create a welcoming, respectful, strength-based, and trauma-informed group environment.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to participants, helping them develop coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and goal-setting techniques.
- Build positive, professional relationships with participants while maintaining appropriate boundaries and modeling effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Connect youth to community resources and support services that promote successful reentry.
Curriculum Support
- Maintain and update curriculum materials, participant workbooks, and community resource guides to ensure relevance and alignment with youth needs and best practices.
- Support the enhancement and occasional development of new curriculum content, workshop activities, and resource materials based on program needs.
- Stay updated on trends in youth development, trauma-informed care, and community resources.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
- Establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with Probation staff, site coordinators, and other programming partners.
- Represent P4W at community and stakeholder meetings to promote life-skills education for justice-involved youth.
- Present at conferences on promoting youth mental wellness and resilience.
- Represent P4W at community outreach and tabling events to increase awareness of programs and services.
Program Reporting & Support
- Track attendance and participation for each session, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
- Collect youth feedback and support basic program evaluation efforts.
- Share success stories, challenges, and program updates with the Program Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Education, or a related field required.
Experience & Skills
- Prior experience working or volunteering with at-risk youth preferred but not required.
- Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills.
- Experience with basic data collection, tracking, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Work schedule consists primarily of afternoon and evening hours based on program and site needs.
- Following hire, employees will be required to successfully complete a background investigation conducted by the Probation Department to obtain and maintain access to assigned program sites.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance, and documentation establishing identity and employment authorization are required.
- Regular travel to juvenile justice sites required; occasional travel to community locations, conferences, and outreach events as needed.
- Mileage reimbursement provided for approved work-related travel.
Compensation: $24-$25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
