Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and develop efficient machining routines.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for precise measurements.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or machine malfunctions.
- Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, welding, or auxiliary tasks as needed during the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for efficiency and safety.
Skills
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and CAM software for creating or modifying machining routines.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings with GD&T annotations accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling, fixtures, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and welding processes.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining dimensions and tolerances.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments emphasizing lean principles for continuous improvement.
