Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Canine and Feline associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, providing essential support in a veterinary or kennel environment. This role involves working closely with animals, ensuring their well-being, and assisting boarding staff in various tasks. A passion for animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for animals, including feeding, medicating, bathing and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including all areas involving pet guests.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their animals' needs and health concerns.
- Support pet grooming services as needed to ensure pets are well-groomed and healthy.
- Document animal care activities accurately and maintain records as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive environment for both animals and staff.
Qualifications
- Experience in kennel work or animal care is preferred; familiarity with veterinary practices is a plus.
- Strong skills in animal handling, including dog handling and restraint techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A compassionate demeanor towards animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays which are required.
