EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position leads major technology functions that support daily operations across the agency. You will be overseeing critical systems, teams, and projects that keep the Public Utility Commission secure and efficient. As the Chief Technology Officer, you will perform the following duties:

System Leadership: Oversee cloud systems, network operations, and on-premises servers to support critical agency functions

Team Oversight: Guide network, cybersecurity, and help desk staff to meet performance goals and service needs

Security Management: Coordinate cybersecurity practices, incident response efforts, and ongoing system monitoring

Project Direction: Lead major technology projects and support the migration of agency infrastructure to cloud environments

Operational Support: Manage hardware lifecycles, help desk services, and telecommunications systems across the agency

Continuity Planning: Support disaster recovery activities and maintain reliable backup and failover procedures

Procurement: Manage all procurement activities for cloud, network, and server systems by coordinating with procurement staff and the CIO, overseeing related budgets and resources, and conducting cost benefit and options analyses for agency technology needs

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
