We are seeking an all-encompassing leader to serve as our Lead Estimator to further develop our sales and drive company success.
Position overview
Are you a driven construction professional who thrives on the chase, winning bids and building lasting industry relationships? This company is a stable, fast-growing commercial paving company in Lubbock, Texas that also provides earth moving and site improvement services. We are seeking a high-energy Lead Estimator to spearhead our bidding process, secure new projects, and fuel our regional sales growth. If you have a passion for outdoor construction, a strong work ethic, and a proven track record of closing deals, we want you on our team. All applicants must have field experience in like work to ensure total competence on bidding work and methods of productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Bidding Process: Manage the full lifecycle of project estimates for commercial paving and earthmoving projects.
- Drive Sales & Revenue: Proactively pursue project leads, follow up thoroughly on submitted bids, and aggressively close deals to win work.
- Build Local Networks: Establish, nurture, and maintain strong professional relationships with local contractors, developers, and municipal contacts in the Lubbock area.
- Ensure Accuracy: Conduct highly thorough take-offs, material cost analyses, and labor estimations to ensure bids are competitive and profitable. Weekly reviews of up coming bids, bids in review and submitted bids will be mandatory.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Proven bidding experience specifically within outdoor construction (paving, grading, earthmoving, or civil utilities is highly preferred).
- Local Network: Ability to immediately begin building and leveraging local business contacts in West Texas.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, relentless follow-up skills, and a strong, competitive drive to sell.
- Applicant should know Earthworks 3-d modeling, Adobe Acrobat, excel, Quick Books Online.
- Bylingual a plus
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. as a direct employee (W-2).
