- Provides protection of life and property; actively, thoroughly, and unpredictably patrols the greater campus area on foot and by vehicle.
- Detects and reports violations of local, state, and federal law and violations of health system policy in a timely manner; actively monitors compliance and enforces parking control policy.
- Handles morgue access and morgue related activities, including required recordkeeping and some interaction with families/next of kin, funeral homes, and the coroner’s office.
- Maintains lost and found items, valuables handling and storage, and issues/collects hospital keys to/from authorized persons.
- Responds to and actively participates in crisis intervention situations.
- Implements directives from the Public Safety Officer and Department Manager.
- Performs report writing and light clerical duties.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Previous security experience preferred.
Licensure
- Valid Georgia Drivers’ License
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills mandatory.
