About the Role
Bear State Kitchen is growing and is looking for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technician to join its Quality Assurance Dept. This role reports directly to the QA Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing product receiving, verifying temperatures, recording lot codes, and ensuring food safety standards are met on every shift.
What You’ll Do
- Record the temperature of trucks delivering Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) foods
- Record incoming temperature of TCS foods upon delivery
- Compare invoices to receiving forms to check for shorts, wrong products, and other inconsistencies
- Supervise proper receiving and stocking of deliveries, keeping the dry storage area clean and organized
- Pick and mark ingredients for recipe production
- Ensure all documentation is signed off and communicate errors immediately for correction
- Communicate short delivery quantities to the General Manager and Production Chef
- Ensure proper labeling and rotation of products (FIFO) in coolers and on shelves
- Complete all Batch Logs accurately and on time
- Support the Production Team during recipe production
- Adhere to health, safety, and HACCP standards at all times, including required documentation
- Ensure proper sanitation setup at the start of every shift
What We’re Looking For (and/or We’ll Train You)

- Minimum 2 years of Batch Code documentation experience
- ServSafe certification (or working knowledge of food safety and sanitation)
- Knowledge of allergens and proper storage/handling
- Ability to identify products and ingredients
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Ability to stand for up to 8+ hours, lift up to 25 lbs, bend and turn
- Available to work 40+ hours per week, including opening and closing shifts
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- High-volume production experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Work Environment
Food production/manufacturing kitchen environment. Standing for most of the shift, with occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Variable shifts, including openings and closings.
