Area Lead Description
An Area Leader is someone who consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture and has a servant’s heart. They have a passion for people and serving others, have strong character, take initiative and work with a sense of urgency at all times. Our Area Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and our Recipe for Service. An Area Leader’s two main areas of focus are completing tasks so that the restaurant runs effectively, and coaching/developing team members. Area Leaders lead by example and set the tone that others will follow.
Our Area Leads play a key role in bringing our vision—“to change lives through little moments by being a remarkable place to dine and work”—to life. As the first step into leadership, they set the tone on each shift by running smooth operations, counting drawers accurately, and supporting the team in real time. Through strong communication, ownership, and a willingness to lead by example, they help create a consistent, positive environment where both guests and team members can thrive.

Essential Functions:
-
Participating operationally in day-to-day activities in high-volume, fast-paced Restaurant
-
Offer immediate and respectful response to Guest's needs
-
Assist in training of new hires, set the tone for a shift, and act as a role model for our team

Be a friendly, encouraging team player

Open and/or close, lead shifts, key holder

Count drawers and finalize day

Prior experience as shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, restaurant assistant manager is not required but is preferred.
