Overview
We are a construction company based in Pocatello Idaho and this specific job will be in Ely Nevada and last 5 days. Transportation will be provided to and from the jobsite with other Morco employees. The job will include 6 hours of drive time to Ely on July 13th, 12 hour days on July 14th, 15th, and 16th, and 6 hours of drive time back to Pocatello on July 17th for a total of round 48 hours. There may be more hours available. Pay rate is $20 per hour and you will be paid for drive time. Hotel and meals are not included, however $150 per diem per day for 4 days is included to cover the cost. There is the potential for this to be a recuring opportunity every 6 weeks through out the summer.
As a Firewatch/Holewatch, you will serve as the vigilant eye on site, monitoring for fire hazards and unsafe conditions while maintaining clear communication with the construction crew. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of critical safety operations that protect personnel and property, all while supporting the successful completion of construction projects. Duties
- Maintain constant surveillance of the work area to identify potential fire hazards or unsafe conditions during construction or system installation.
- Monitor designated fire watch or hole watch points, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with construction teams regarding safety concerns, hazards, or emergency situations.
- Record all safety observations, incidents, and inspections accurately in logs and reports for documentation purposes.
Skills
- Basic understanding of security protocols and safety regulations related to construction sites.
- Experience with construction inspection processes preferred.
- Ability to identify potential fire and safety hazards.
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration with team members.
- Attention to detail in conducting inspections, maintaining logs, and adhering to safety protocols.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Preferred.
- MSHA part 48 Preferred.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for 12 hour shifts.
- Training will be provided before hand.
